Twelve hours into their first international tour, New Jersey-based trio Brian Curry, Jeff Petescia, and Steve Shimchick enjoy post-red eye pints at an outdoor pub in London. It is another milestone, another chapter penned in this particular group’s edition of the long, strange trip.
What sprouted with a serendipitous park bench meeting at Rutgers University grew roots through dorm room and cabin recordings, branching out with performances near and far.
At their core, Cold Weather Company is the sonic coalescence of three singer-songwriters with distinct influences, experiences, and personalities. With mirroring guitars on either side of the piano, their symmetry is a reflection of this balance between individuality and cohesion.
On their latest records and for select live shows, the trio is joined by percussion, brass, and strings—instrumentation which facilitates an expansion of their distinctive alt-folk landscape. Acoustic styling meets an electric feel that encompasses both planned and improvisational arrangements.

With more than 60 songs released and four full-length albums, Brian, Jeff, and Steve are excited to announce more music and performance dates this year. Their new single “Run Away” will be available on February 17, 2023.
