Chef Frank Caponi, in collaboration with Ironbound’s Farmer-Chef Alec, has created a menu celebrating Italian cuisine.
About this event
Chef Frank Caponi is bringing his pasta making expertise to Ironbound. The night begins with a gathering around the Motherfire — our Argentinian-inspired cooking hearth that sits at the heart of our Cider Garden, surrounded by flowers and aromatic botanicals. Guests will have a ring-side seat as our chefs roast, grill, and cook over open fire — transforming produce they’ve gathered from our fields and forest into a tasty selection of innovative small-bites. Our evening of experiential eating then moves tableside for a multi-course, family-style meal.
Throughout the evening cocktail pairings, prepared by Ironbound's mixologists, will be served: all created with our ciders, wines, fortified ciders and botanicals grown on the farm.
Seating for this dinner is extremely limited, so please book early. We look forward to celebrating this feast with you!
· Please note: Depending on the winds, it may be smoky around the Motherfire.
· This outdoor event is weather-dependent. In the event of cancellation, the full ticket price will be refunded.
· When making your reservation, be sure to indicate any dietary restrictions.
ABOUT THE CHEF
Chef Caponi grew up in Hightstown NJ, learning how to cook alongside his grandmother— whom he rolled meatballs with each Sunday—and at his mother’s restaurant, where he spent countless hours between the front and back of the house. Through a fateful meeting at Mercer County Community Colleges’ Culinary program, Frank met his mentor: Chef Chris Albrecht of Eno Terra in Kingston, NJ. Not only did he land his first kitchen job, he also found his true calling: the art of pasta. Frank's love for pasta spurred his global travels, including a trip to Japan to study ramen. He went on to learn how to make a wide variety of shapes from numerous chefs including Anthony Andiario, Jonathan Benno, and Mario Zeck at Lore pasta. Frank is incredibly appreciative that Chef Alec has given him the opportunity to showcase his experience.
